About One Day Walks

Our company is in fact a hobby that’s gotten out of hand. Because we realised that other guides often did not meet up with our expectations and our wishes, we came up with the idea to make one ourselves. All three of us work in the communication business and therefore had some ideas about concept and design. And because we definitely wanted to do our own thing, we decided to become publishers ourselves.

In 2006 we published our first book, Walking on Menorca, in Dutch. Then we really got cracking with the publications of Devon (2007), Corfu (2008), Värmland (2009), Rhodes (2010) and Västernorrland (2011). Because the three of us all have daytime jobs, we can only publish one guide per year. But the entire guide, from front to back, has been created by us! Because of their popularity on the Dutch market and because of the demand from abroad, we’ve decided to make these hiking destinations also accessible to people from other countries. The first two English translations will be available from mid April 2011:
